Civil protection exercise at Novi Sad park

The exercise began at 9 am with the arrival of several reports to the 118 Operations Center which in turn alerted both the Traffic Police and the Provincial Fire Brigade Command.

The arrival of the first traffic police patrol, the fire brigade vehicles and the first 118 rescue vehicle which carried out the initial patient assessment procedures was then simulated.

The health coordination team was then activated and the fire brigade made the accident site safe and rescue operations began. In particular, procedures were carried out on the cars involved in the accident to stabilize the vehicles involved and extricate the victims and then proceed to make the fuel systems safe, in this case hybrid cars. In addition to ordinary vehicles such as fire engines and pickups, a multi-terrain “Sherp” vehicle capable of accessing the most inaccessible territories was also used.

Around 9.30 am the Operations Room of the Fire Brigade notified the on-call official of the Prefecture and the Regional Directorate of the Fire Brigade and, after having carried out the NBCR (Bacteriological Chemical Radiological Nucleus) assessment, notified the shift manager of the emergency service availability of the ARPAE and the public health department of the local health authority.

At 10.30 am the Rescue Coordination Center was activated at the Prefecture while the activities of the various bodies involved continued at the site of the accident.

At 1.00 pm the exercise ended and starting from 2.00 pm the internal debriefing operations began at each participating institution, the conclusions of which will be exposed and analyzed during the general debriefing convened at the Prefecture for the 23rd April.
