Catholic University: Degree Festival for 42 doctors in English
Ceremony in Rome with inaugural speech by Ziegelstein (Baltimore)
Milan, 8 Jul. (askanews) – degree party for the 42 students enrolled in Medicine and Surgery, the degree course entirely in English activated in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in the 2013/2014 academic year. At the Graduation Day, the recent graduates from European Union countries and from all over the world were proclaimed today, Friday 8 July, doctors in medicine and surgery in the auditorium of the Rome office of the Catholic University. The ceremony was opened by the institutional greetings of the Rector of the Catholic University Professor Franco Anelli, of the principal of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Professor Rocco Bellantone and the President of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery Professor Giovanni Gambassi.
The inaugural speech was held by Professor Roy C. Ziegelstein, Sarah Miller Coulson and Frank L. Coulson Jr., Professor of Medicine, and Mary Wallace Stanton, Professor of Education and Deputy Dean for Education at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of Johns Hopkins University of Baltimore who, by addressing undergraduates, underlined the importance of taking care of the sick and their families, with particular attention to the most fragile of society, recognizing the future doctors the extraordinary power not only to help patients, but also to Improve the world, remembering these values during their entire professional and personal life.
