UNRWA is still waiting for Tel Aviv to provide evidence to support its allegations that refugee agency employees took part in the October 7 attacks on Israel. UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini said this, quoted by al Jazeera.
Several major supporting countries, including the United States, have frozen vital aid to Gaza. UNRWA has said that if funding is not restored, it may be forced to close its activities in Gaza and across the region.
“The UN has never, ever, ever received any written dossier, despite our repeated appeals to the Israeli authorities for cooperation,” Lazzarini added.
