BASEDOW’S DISEASE AND UTERUS CARCINOMA, MANILA NAZZARO DISEASE

What is Graves’ disease and what do we know about the carcinoma that affected Manila Nazzaro? This afternoon, during the first of the two weekend episodes of “Verissimo”, in the studios of the talk show broadcast on Canale 5 there will be an exclusive interview with the hostess 46 year old TV presenter as well as actress and former model from Puglia who in the studio will be accompanied by Stefano Oradei, the man with whom she will soon get married for what will be her second marriage after being married to the former footballer Francesco Cozza. And, while waiting to find out what the couple will tell the hostess, Silvia Toffanin, let’s turn the spotlight on the Health problems received from Nazzaro.

As you remember, in 2014 Manila Nazzaro had told for the first time that she was suffering from Graves’ disease, this is the full name of the disease from the two doctors and researchers who first described its symptoms and manifestations. In essence it is one form of autoimmune hyperthyroidism affecting the thyroid and which is usually characterized by dermopathy, goiter, hyperthyroidism and ophthalmopathy, which are also associated with muscle weakness, sleep problems and irritability. Just over an old one hosted on the talk show conducted by Toffanin, the 46-year-old originally from Foggia had told how she has to live with the disease and the operation she had undergone after having had it for some time underestimated the symptoms.

NAZZARO, THE THYROID OPERATION: “AFTER I WAS REMAINED AVOIC AND…”

If I had discovered it sooner, I would have avoided all this (…) For me that was a very dark period, I had gained weight and by now I no longer recognized myself” she added, recalling the first signs of thyroid dysfunction. Hence the need for surgery with the removal of a gland and which, moreover, had had serious consequences on her career: “Following the operation I had lost the use of one of my vocal cords and so for a few months I remained completely dull”. Despite this, Nazzaro’s career got off to a great start given that the former model also had the strength to overcome a carcinoma, discovered during another particularly complex period of her life, that is, during divorce from her first husband.

“I had discovered that I had uterine carcinoma, but luckily prevention saved my life” he said about that phase in which his partner was another former footballer, Lorenzo Amoruso. “He couldn’t take it anymore (…) And so we separated: I accused him of not having the patience to stay by my side…” Manila Nazzaro recalled again about that breakup which occurred shortly after they met, and yet saved for a short period thanks also to the fact that the presenter recovered thanks above all to the importance of prevention. “Then I sent him a message wishing me a happy Easter, he replied. I never stopped thinking about it and he always asked about me too” he had said about the man with whom the love story would then end definitively in the first months of 2023.
