Today the magnitude he touched 3.9 of the Richter scale. The bang was heard throughout the city, at 5.44: Neapolitans were awakened in their sleep by the roar and in some areas, such as Bacoli, they poured into the streets. L’epicenter was registered byINGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology) between Bacoli and Pozzuoli, in gulf of Pozzuoli. Monte di Procida, Quarto and Procida are the other closest municipalities, as the crow flies. The earthquake was felt until Ischia.
We’re in the middle of one seismic swarm, with mild tremors that are repeated hours later. More than fifty have occurred since last Thursday. The last 2.4 reported was at 3.47 this night, in the districts of Agnano and Bagnoli, in Naples and in the neighboring municipalities, between Pozzuoli and Bacoli. At dawn this morning, however, the event was greater. However, there is no news of major damage at the moment, as reported by the firefighters and civil protection.

The INGV which monitors the area assures that there are no signs of an imminent volcanic eruption, “much less of large proportions”. Today’s earthquake was also felt strongly in Procida, so much so that the island’s mayor Dino Ambrosino, a few hours later, wanted to reassure his fellow citizens through personal and municipal social channels: “This morning at 5.45 we also felt the earthquake throughout Procida. He woke us up with prolonged movement lasting several seconds. At the moment there are no reports of damage on the island” was the message from the mayor of Procida. Ad Ischia the effects of the 5.45 am shock were decidedly less powerful although there was no shortage of reports from those who felt it, especially on the northern side of the island.
