Now even the vagina has its own avatar (for research)

There is very little research that focuses on women’s reproductive health. And there are no animal models on which to study because no other species shares the same colony of vaginal bacteria with humans. For this reason, the Harvard Institute for biologically inspired engineering has created the world‘s first “vagina chip”. A sort of in vitro avatar of the female sexual organ that replicates many of the characteristics of the original.
