“open week” in family clinics

The Ministry of Health and the Atena Onlus Foundation have joined forces once again to promote the ninth edition of the national women’s health day, which will be celebrated on 22 April. In honor of this important day, family counseling centers in the province of Brindisi will dedicate the week from 18 to 24 April to providing information, prevention, and treatment for women’s health issues.

Antonio Fanigliulo, the head of the consultancy coordination unit of the ASL Brindisi, along with the Prevention department led by Stefano Termite, have organized a series of themed meetings across various family clinics in the province. These meetings will cover a range of topics related to women’s health at different stages of life.

Some of the highlights of the open week include discussions on menopause and contraception, oncology prevention, IVG prevention, sexually transmitted diseases, puberty, and preconceptional health. These meetings will provide valuable information and resources for women to take charge of their health and well-being.

The family counseling centers participating in the open week include those in San Pancrazio Salentino, Ostuni, Fasano, Ceglie Messapica, Brindisi, Mesagne, S. Pietro Vernotico, San Vito dei Normanni, Oria, and Cisternino. Each center will offer specific programs and discussions tailored to the needs of women in their community.

This initiative aims to promote awareness and encourage women to prioritize their health by seeking regular check-ups and preventive care. By providing access to information and resources, the family counseling centers hope to empower women to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
