As part of the promotion in Poland of the volumes recently published by the Farnesina, the Italian ambassador in Warsaw, Luca Franchetti Pardo, in conjunction with the Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow, donated around fifty books of Pimpa travels in Italy’ in Ukrainian to the children of the Unicef Center for Education and Development, located in the Polish capital.
The hub was created by the United Nations in 2022 following the Russian aggression on Ukraine to assist Ukrainian refugee mothers and children. Unicef speaks of 75 thousand people helped in the Centre, with information, educational opportunities, Polish language lessons and psychological support.
The ambassador recalled that “the initiative, which is part of Italy’s broader support activity in Kiev, with particular attention to children and young people, aims to be a useful support for education, as well as for knowledge of Italy “.
The national coordinator of Unicef in Poland, Rashed Mustafa, thanked Italy for its continuous contribution, of which the donation of books for Ukrainian children is just a further testimony.
