The Queen Elizabeth is positive for Covid. She lets Buckingham Palace know, pointing out that the sovereign has mild symptoms. The last to be infected in the palace were Prince Charles (hit by Covid for the second time) and his wife Camilla. The 95-year-old British sovereign is experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms”, however, will likely continue to perform her less demanding duties at Windsor in the coming week.

Elizabeth II infected by Prince Charles
Elizabeth II tested positive after being in direct contact with Prince Charles in the week in which the latter was infected for the second time by the virus. Queen Elizabeth’s health concerns emerged ten days ago when her son tested positive for coronavirus. Two days before the test, Charles had been in contact with the monarch. On that occasion, Buckingham Palace made it known that the queen did not present any symptoms. On February 14, however, the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, consort of Prince Charles, had also tested positive for Covid-19. For Prince Charles this is the second time he has contracted the coronavirus.

The fears for the sovereign
Elisabetta, 95, lost her husband Filippo last summer. The sovereign has to deal with the ailments typical of her age: in the last public engagements she has been seen with a cane and comfortable shoes. Her concern for her health, now that she has been infected by Covid, spreads among the subjects: last October the queen was hospitalized for tests and the doctors had ordered her to rest and change her diet.
