Riot Games announced at the VCT (“Special Combat Heroes” Championship Tour) Phase 2 Masters in May that the Phase 3 event is expected to be held in Berlin, Germany on September 9th. The top 16 teams from all over the world will gather together. Compete for points to qualify for the 2021 VCT Championship.
Riot Games Southeast Asia will start the regional challenge open qualifier in July this year. A total of 16 seeded teams will be selected from the following regions: Thailand (3), Indonesia (3), Philippines (3), Singapore And Malaysia (2 branches), Taiwan and Hong Kong (2 branches) and Vietnam (3 branches). Currently, most regions have opened players to register for the first round of the Open Qualifying Tournament of the Phase 3 Challenge. Players must be at least 16 years old and have at least Diamond 1 in order to register.

The playoffs of the third stage challenge will last for two weeks. The first week will be the group stage, which will be divided into four groups, each with four teams, and the second week will allow eight teams to play a double-elimination round. The first week adopts the BO2 single round robin system. Each team will get points according to the result of the match. If two teams are evenly divided, the same score will be the result of the match when the two sides are matched, the number of rounds when the two sides are matched, and the overall round ratio. The last resort is to have a final tiebreaker. After the fourth day of the group stage is scheduled, the second week’s schedule will be announced.
At the end of the VCT Phase 3 Challenge, two teams will be selected to represent Southeast Asia in the “Special Fighters” Berlin Masters. They will be compared with top teams from North America, Brazil, Latin America, Japan, South Korea, and Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Compete.
