The “Regatta for life” is back, now in its third edition after the stop last year due to a health emergency due to Covid. This event is back and is highly anticipated, scheduled for next 29 August, organized in full collaboration by the Oncology Clinic of the United Hospitals of Ancona-Polytechnic University of Marche, Marina Dorica of Ancona, Nautical Club of Senigallia, by the shipowner Alberto Rossi, in collaboration with the network of voluntary associations operating in the oncological field of the Marche “Marcangola”, with the Naval League of Falconara Marittima, the FIV X Zona and the Non-profit Organization for the United Hospitals of Ancona.
There are many realities that will lend themselves to complete this race between multiple crews: solidarity and sport together against oncological pathologies. The combination in previous years has been particularly successful and has led to very important results: the proceeds from the registrations will in fact be donated to charity for the realization of projects in the Marche region oncology for the benefit of patients and associations. The appointment for the start of the regatta is scheduled by the Nautical Club of Senigallia at 12 noon to end in the afternoon in Ancona: the day does not end with the arrival of the boats, however, as the awarding of the winners is expected at 18 in Marina Dorica. the Dragon Boat, the rowing boat pushed by the patients of the Pink room of the Oncology Clinic of the Ospedali Riuniti in Ancona, will parade in conjunction with the departure of the others. The presentation of the award ceremony is entrusted to Paolo Cori, former speaker for the American Cup, and will take place in the presence of institutions, voluntary associations, patients themselves and health professionals. The motor of the event was the Director of the Oncology Clinic Rossana Berardi who once again this year brought together enthusiasts, amateurs, champions such as Claudia and Alberto Rossi so that, with passion and foresight, they could contribute to the performance and therefore to the success of the appointment.
The regatta every year involves health professionals, institutions, the world of volunteering, ordinary citizens, the same patients with their families in the name of a principle that represents the matrix of this initiative and its success: that networking that to face the oncological path it appears necessary in the ward as in these contexts, with the participants ready for a day at sea to make the great heart of solidarity triumph, indispensable both with the wind on the waves and on land.
