The Sant’Anna hospital in Cona, in 42nd place, is considered one of the best hospitals in Italy. This is stated in the annual ranking “World’s Best Hospital 2024” drawn up by the magazine “Newsweek” in collaboration with Statista.

In total, the Italian hospitals examined are 131, the best three are considered to be the Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli in Rome, the Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda in Milan and the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan.

The “Newsweek” ranking looked at 2,400 hospitals in 30 countries. The ranking takes into account the excellence of the care provided, the presence of renowned doctors, a top-quality nursing staff and an offer of cutting-edge technologies. The hospitals considered for the world ranking are selected on the basis of “nominations” suggested by experts in the healthcare field (over 85 thousand doctors, managers and healthcare professionals were involved)based on the results of surveys conducted on patients and “key performance indicators” – medical performance indicators – on hospitals (for example data on the quality of treatments, hygiene measures and patient safety).

After selecting the hospitals in this way, a board of international experts proceeds to evaluate them and draws up the world ranking. The results of this ranking appear in lists published annually by Newsweek.
