ANCONA – The issue is delicate and even if a few days have passed since the proposal of the Regions – who would like to change the relationship between the public health service and family doctors, making them pass to the employ of the State or binding them through an accreditation – it has already aroused the harsh reaction of the Federation of Family Doctors in Walk. With a letter to the governor Acquaroli and the councilor for Health Saltamartini, also sent to the Minister of Health Speranza for information, the regional secretary general Massimo Magi wrote down the reasons for the protest.

“We are irritated by the document issued by the State-Regions conference which claims to change the status from a contracted freelancer to employee or employee of cooperatives. In addition to the non-payment due until the month of March – underlines Dr. Magi -, we are even more alarmed and ready to misstate our positions for this hypothetical and absurd plan. In the face of so much activity we are also punished. We are more than 1000 thousand family doctors in the region: we are not saying that we should not think about some organizational methods or improve performance. But it is not with the eradication of the figure of the family doctor that changes take place: ours is a figure that represents the strength of the national health system. According to the Fimmg trade union of the Marche there are four coordinates to keep in mind in the reorganization of the general medicine system: «Resources are needed for adequate investments capable of promoting health and reducing socio-economic inequalities in health care. Organization is needed, for the transition to a more innovative and modern pro-activity medicine also through a more widespread use of information technology, digital and first level. Incentives are needed to identify new remuneration models that favor quality performance, coordination and prevention and evaluation with systems for measuring the outcomes achieved.
