LEDRO. A Ledro in August a new general practitioner will arrive who will stay for a few months, awaiting a definitive assignment. Therefore, from Monday 2 August, the general medicine clinic will continue to be operational and available to the community.
The provincial agency for health services has received the willingness to fill the position from a professional who, for the first days of activity, will be supported by colleagues from the continuity of care service. The patients in the area had expressed fears about the expiration of the assignment to the doctor who serves in the area.
“We are aware that this is a temporary solution, but the availability of the doctor, whom I would like to thank personally, allows us not to leave the Ledro area uncovered and to give patients a referral doctor. In the meantime we are working to find a definitive solution, I would like to reassure citizens that their needs are at the attention of both the Health Authority and the Province: unfortunately the shortage of doctors is a known problem that we are addressing with all possible solutions, which they aim above all at strengthening local health services.
