Francesco Benazzi, general director of the Local Health Authority of the Marca, has nominated 22 super-primaries to lead the Treviso healthcare system for the next two years. These super-primaries have the important task of ensuring that departments are running efficiently and meeting budget objectives while also overseeing the work of head doctors in their respective departments.
During a meeting organized by the Unitary Committee for Self-employed Pensioners (Cupla) in Ponzano, Benazzi highlighted the progress the healthcare system has made in reducing waiting lists. From last May to now, the number of requests waiting for appointments has decreased from 34 thousand to less than 6,300, with a goal to clear them all by July.
Benazzi also addressed the misconception that the public healthcare system relies heavily on private services, stating that the percentage of private services compared to public remains around 15%. Last year, there were significantly more discharges from public hospitals compared to affiliated private ones, demonstrating the importance and dominance of the public healthcare sector.
In addition to the super-primaries appointed in various districts, the Local Health Authority has introduced several new family doctors in the area to ensure continuity of medical assistance. These family doctors have opened clinics in different locations and have begun providing online services to meet the needs of patients.
