The computer was sold through the US auction house John Morgan. There are only six of this type of Apple-1 in the world. In all, around 200 units have been sold since 1976, which is also the year in which the two creators of this machine – Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs – founded Apple.
Despite being very rare, this Apple-1 isn’t Apple’s highest-paid vintage computer in history. In 2014, another example was sold for 950 thousand dollars.
