The death of Eugenio Nasarre provokes nostalgia and reflection on a period that today seems to be in question, but which in the Spanish community was provocative and enriching. A campaign in defense of the Pope titled “Me with Francis” highlights the urgency for Catholic Action to be present in the problems and socio-political changes of Spanish society. The young people trained in the parishes and centers of the Luises de la Compañía, together with Christian Democratic ideas of Italian and French origin, actively participated in the political transition, often alongside other ideologies.
The relationship between ethical convictions linked to religion or ideology in the promulgation of laws of the moment and their morality is an important consideration. Citizen groups, often of Christian Democrat formation, collaborated effectively in the renewal policy of those years, with the young Eugenio Nasarre being one of them. He was part of a believing community, anchored in the Gospel and aware of his commitment to the freedom and social well-being of the Spanish people.
It was a believing community, also divided, but with a more solid doctrinal formation, more communal and decidedly more marked by the Social Doctrine of the Church and for the desire to actively participate in the formation of a more just and united society. Nasarre and many Catholics like him sought to effectively defend the rights of people and collaborate in the implementation of social justice and respect for freedom.
