Nissan Qashqai it is an authentic model of success, one of those with large numbers, capable of bewitching an entire continent, likeEuropa. Since the debut of the very first generation (launched in 2008), Italy has also been an easy land to conquer for the Japanese crossover, which is relaunched with this latest restyling which promises very great things. The latest numbers are enough to understand the feeling that exists between Italians and Qashqai: over 21,000 units in 2023 and almost 7,000 already totaled between January and March 2024. This allows Nissan’s C-SUV to be the category leader in our latitudes, as well as the best-selling model of the entire Japanese range.
A necessary restyling
The third generation of Nissan Qashqai it was launched in 2021, so three years have already passed since that lucky launch. In the meantime, the competition has galloped very fast and a long list of alternative models have entered the fray, ready to gnaw at the Japanese’s dominance.
Therefore, the Japanese manufacturer thought – rightly – of launching what in fact It’s a third-generation facelift of the crossover, which however has the flavor of an authentic novelty. A series of updates are inserted into this model that implement the technological, security and device sectors. Everything you need to sharpen your nails and bite the market.
How the look of the Nissan Qashqai changes
We were saying that more than a restyling, the Nissan Qashqai seems like a completely new model. The stylistic changes are evident, starting from the abandonment of the mask inverted trapezoidV-Shape“ for the benefit of a more modern and fashionable solution. The new grille is made up of three elements slightly inclined to the side which, seen from the right angle, bring out a sort of homage to the old shape.
The most obvious changes are, perhaps, those concerning the headlights: the daytime running lights retain the forma a boomerang but with a more open corner and the lamps on the lower side take up the grid motif, creating a very interesting stylistic continuity. The headlights, however, are LED with active lighting. In the rear section, the internal cut of the headlights changes, which remain the same in profile but have transparent shells and two different graphics depending on the trim level.
Finally, the exterior finishes show satin chrome elements o in “gloss black“, depending on the trim level selected, and newly shaped wheels from 17″ to 20”. In total there are 13 different colors (eight solid colors and five two-tone) for the bodywork, three of which are new: pearly white and black and the new Ocean Green. More modern interior
L’interior of the new Nissan Qashqai it did not make an impressive leap forward, because it was not changed in shape but was made more graceful thanks to a higher level of finish in the upholstery of the seats and the dashboard. Depending on the trim levels, the interior space also changes in terms of detail. To give an example, on Tekna there are new seats in technical fabric and satin chrome inserts accompanied by Alcantara inserts for the dashboard, armrests, central console, while with the Tekna Plus the design of the seats changes and they become Premium. N-Designfinally, it has a leather and Alcantara combination for the seats.
To make the car package more modern, Nissan has decided to include wider and more sophisticated technological features, in terms of safety and connected services: the system Around View Monitor guarantees an improved view through four cameras, of which the front one has an angle of 200°. Now it is possible to select eight different views: front, side, back and the four edges. Finally, there is also a mode invisible bonnet which through a graphic representation allows you to have a clear perception of the position of the wheels, particularly useful when manoeuvring.
As far as infotainment is concerned, the Japanese crossover integrates Google Playnavigation with Google Maps and the assistant Google Assistant which is triggered by the phrase “Hey Google“. Alternatively, with the Apple CarPlay connection, which is wireless like Android Auto, you can choose Siri.
The ADAS available
The new Nissan Qashqai enjoys the Driver Assist Custom Mode, which allows you to adjust the intervention of some safety systems to better adapt them to your driving style and make them less intrusive, associating the selection with your personal profile which is recalled at every startup. Then, it involves the use of Reversing Detenction which detects rear traffic,Intelligence Speed Assist which indicates the current speed limit in the instrument panel, andEvent Data Recordinga sort of digital black box that saves the data of the last hours of driving, standard on all versions.
Nissan Qashqai engines
The engines that can be connected to the new Nissan Qashqai 2024 have remained unchanged compared to the current ones. So, let’s start with the engine 1.3 turbo petrol equipped with mild hybrid technology and power of 140 or 158 HP – the latter also with the options of the Xtronic automatic transmission and all-wheel drive – up to the innovative E-Power, which combines electric-only traction with a high-efficiency petrol engine used as an on-board generator.
In no case is the thermal power transmitted directly to the wheels. The driving pleasure is typical of EVs with brilliant and linear acceleration, but no recharging on tap and to fill up with energy you just need to fill the tank with petrol. Furthermore, the low noise emissions and reduced vibrations guarantee maximum silence and comfort on board.
Price list to be communicated
The price list of the new Nissan Qashqai has not yet been released by the Japanese manufacturer but, presumably, it will apparently have a higher trend than today. This is because the new range will abandon the Visia setup starting directly froml’Acenta, therefore with more basic equipment than the previous one. The further novelty is represented by the layout N-Design, which represents a step higher than the Tekna+ with door moldings and wheel arches in body color and new 20″ alloy wheels. After all, the eye also wants its part.
