Final sentence of 23 years in prison for Alfredo Cospito. The judges of the VI criminal section of the Supreme Court confirmed the criminal responsibility of the anarchist ideologue in relation to the attack on the former police barracks in Fossano, in the province of Cuneo, in 2006. The Supreme Court also reiterated the 17-year sentence and 9 months for
the other defendant in the trial, Anna Beniamino. Especially stoats
rejected the appeal presented by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Court
of Turin and declared the defense appeals inadmissible. That’s how it is
the sentence issued by the Turin second instance judges was confirmed.
In recent weeks the Court of Cassation declared inadmissible the request presented by Cospito’s defenders against the decision of the supervisory court of Rome which had hard prison confirmed. Cospito – it is remembered – already has a definitive sentence for the attack on Roberto Adinolfimanager of Ansaldo Nucleare, which occurred in 2012.
In Rome, before the judges of the sixth criminal section, the deputy prosecutor Lori Perla had asked for the rejection of the appeal of the Turin general prosecutor’s office, which instead requested a life sentence with daytime isolation for 12 months for the anarchist detained under 41bis, and 27 years and one month for Benjamin. For the Supreme Court judge, «the damage actually done» with the attack on the former barracks «was particularly minor. The determinations made in the contested sentence therefore appear correct.” After the prosecutor’s indictment, the defenders of Cospito and Beniamino, the lawyers Flavio Rossi Albertini and Caterina Calia, took the floor.
Attack during the night in Cinecittà
In anticipation of the supreme judges’ decision, during the night in Rome, a group of anarchists set fire to some bins and also a car, and then vandalized the ATMs of a post office and a Banca Intesa agency and another of the Deutsche Bank between via Anicio Gallo and via Lucio Papirio in Cinecittà.
