A system aimed at the violation, by means of computer intrusions, of video surveillance systems installed mostly in private homes, but also in the changing rooms of gyms, swimming pools and private studios has been disrupted by the Milan State Police. The Postal Police of the Lombard capital, with the coordination of the Rome Postal Police Service and the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office, concluded a judicial police operation that affected 10 cities throughout the country. As many home and computer searches were made e seized a large amount of IT equipment.

According to what emerged from the investigations, the two criminal groups were spying then monetize through cryptocurrency transactions and using first what is called the ‘Russian facebook’, that is the social network VKontakte, to then move on to Telegram. In total there are 11 suspects, with 10 searches in as many Italian cities, from Ragusa in Sicily to Treviso passing through Rome and Milan. One of the two criminal organizations had the objective of investing illicit proceeds in increasingly sophisticated technological equipment. For the other, financial transitions were discovered in cryptocurrencies of 50,000 euros.
