In a joint operation between the Attorney General’s Office and the GAULA of the Police, 11 alleged members of the ‘Second Marquetalia’ were captured, accused of participating in various criminal activities in the departments of Caquetá, Huila, Tolima and Goal.

The detainees, identified as Faber Mauricio Hernández Tovar (alias Ronald Rodríguez), Darney Trujillo Bahamón (alias Cristian), Sergio Hernández Tovar (alias Piter Rodríguez), Wendy Dayana Galindo (alias Camila Rojas), Arnoldo González Moreno (alias Samuel), Kevin Aldemar Torres Ramírez (alias Wilson León), Zuleima Longa Santa (alias Faisury), Jhon Eider Trujillo Bahamón (alias ‘Steven’), Joaquín Angarita Acero, Mónica Cortés Briñez and Roberd Anderson Rodríguez Bustos, are accused of maintaining a violent confrontation with the criminal structure led by alias Iván Mordisco, for the control of illicit income in the departments of Caquetá, Huila, Tolima and Meta.

According to investigations, this criminal group would have been intimidating and extorting merchants, ranchers, transporters and contractors in at least 20 municipalities in the region, forcing them to pay illegal fees under threats.

In addition, they are credited with participating in armed confrontations with the rival structure known as ‘Rodrigo Cadete’.belonging to the self-proclaimed Central General Staff of the FARC dissidents, as part of a dispute for control of criminal activities in the area.

For these crimes, a prosecutor from the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations charged them with manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms or ammunition, as well as manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons and ammunition for restricted or exclusive use by the Forces. Armed, in addition to conspiracy to commit an aggravated crime.
