Nel 2023 the icompanies in Emilia-Romagna they have exported goods for 85.1 billion of euros at current values, the 13.6% of national exportssecond region after Lombardy (26,1%) e before Veneto (13.1%). At the level for the headthe primacy of Emilia-Romagnacon 19.219 euro of exports per resident, almost 181% of the national average value (10,641 euros per inhabitant). Compared to 2022 it grew by almost a billion

Compared to 2022, regional exports are grown in Emilia-Romagna by just under one billion euros at current values ​​(923 million), corresponding to ua growth of +1.1% higher than the national average (+0.0%), and to the average of the North-East (-1.0%). As already highlighted in the previous quarterly notes, the dynamics expressed at current values ​​continues to reflect, at this stage, the effect linked to price growthalbeit to a lesser extent than observed in 2022.

5% contraction in imports

As regards purchases from abroad, in 2023 in Emilia-Romagna an import flow equal to 49.9 billion of euros at current values ​​(equal to 8.1% of Italian imports), in contraction of -5.2% every year.

Trade balance of 35 billion

In 2023, the foreign trade balance of Emilia-Romagna – calculated as the difference between exports and imports and net of the trade of energy products, mainly oil, natural gas and electricity (which are not ‘regionalised’) – was equal to 35.2 billion of euros at current values, the most consistent among all Italian regions (and growing from 31.5 billion in 2022).
