2024 Higher Education and Employment Development Forum Held in Xi’an

The 2024 Higher Education and Employment Development Forum took place in Xi’an on March 21, with the theme of “Rejuvenating the Nation through Science and Education and Building the Dream of a Strong Nation.” The event was organized by the College Graduates Employment Association and co-sponsored by the New Oriental College Student Learning and Development Center and the College-Enterprise Cooperation Committee of the College Graduates Employment Association. More than 300 guests, including university leaders, educational scholars, and business representatives, attended the forum.

Wang Lujiang, President of the College Graduates Employment Association, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of optimizing the employment service system for college students and promoting vocational training activities. Yu Minhong, Chairman of New Oriental Education Technology Group, emphasized the need for collaboration between the country, universities, individuals, and society to improve student employment and development.

Professor Chen Zhangliang from Peking University discussed the importance of adjusting majors to meet changing social needs and helping graduates adapt to the evolving job market. Han Wensheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of China University of Political Science and Law, emphasized the development of a comprehensive education system focusing on moral, intellectual, and artistic growth.

Gao Guihe, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Anhui University, shared insights on cultivating employment literacy in college students. Guo Tao, director of the Information Network Technology Center of Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology, discussed universities’ responses to the challenges of digital transformation in talent training. Xu Shoufeng, Chairman of the School-Enterprise Cooperation Committee of the College Graduates Employment Association, highlighted the importance of upgrading the talent evaluation system and strengthening industry-education integration.

Further discussions were held on promoting high-quality employment for university talents, as well as strategies for improving the alignment between student skills and industry demands. The forum also witnessed the signing of school-enterprise cooperation agreements between New Oriental and several universities, aiming to establish a new model for talent training.

The event showcased the commitment of New Oriental Education Technology Group to supporting the growth and development of college students through various educational services. The release of the “Annual Report on Quantitative Postgraduate Entrance Examination” provided valuable insights for candidates planning to pursue further education.
