The 2024 Spring Festival Shandong Rural Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off in Dazhao Village, Zoucheng City, Jining on January 19 with the launch of the 10th “Visit hundreds of villages and enter thousands of households and send thousands of photos” event. The event, organized by the Shandong Photographers Association, aims to capture the essence of rural life and culture through photography and volunteer service activities.
Notable figures such as Fan Changguo, Chairman of the Shandong Photographers Association, Zhang Zuochang, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Jining Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and other dignitaries attended the launching ceremony. Dazhao Village, known for its rich folk cultural atmosphere and intangible cultural heritage projects, provided the perfect setting for the event.
Photography volunteers took “family portraits” and “happy photos” for the villagers, capturing their joyful moments and preserving them as New Year gifts. The villagers were delighted to receive the printed and framed photos, expressing their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
The “Visiting Hundreds of Villages and Visiting Thousands of Households and Giving Thousands of Photos” activity has been a longstanding tradition, serving as a literary and artistic volunteer service brand created by the Shandong Provincial Photographers Association. Over the past decade, the event has brought joy to over 50,000 people in rural areas and has been widely acclaimed for its impact.
The event is sponsored by the Shandong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Shandong Province Photographers Association, Jining Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Propaganda Department of the Zoucheng Committee of the Communist Party of China. The collaboration between various photography associations at the provincial, city, and county levels ensures the success of the event during the Spring Festival.
The launch ceremony was attended by vice-chairmen of the Shandong Photographers Association, as well as the Secretary-General of the Shandong Photographers Association and other distinguished guests, highlighting the significance of this cultural event.
