There are videos on the Internet showing that a house collapsed at the scene, leaving only ruins and bursts of white smoke. Some people said, “Ah, it’s scary. The houses below are all blown up. Our windows are all blown out and the roads are broken.” Then they saw someone being carried out on a stretcher.
According to a report by the “Beijing News” at about 5:30 pm, the staff of the Fengshan Street Office in Wulong District said that the explosion occurred in a two-story old building. The staff of the on-site emergency command center said that 27 people were lost due to the initial verification of the accident, and 10 people have been found.

Qiu Yiming said that there was an explosion, and the glass doors of their stores were shaking. “The glass doors rattled and not broken. The houses (the glass) next to (the scene) were all broken. That explosion sounded. It’s too loud, and the sound is so loud that everyone is dizzy.”

The Epoch Times reporter called the Fengshan Sub-district Office many times, but the phone numbers were all unavailable.
“Jimu News” reported that on the afternoon of the 7th, an employee of a merchant near the place of the incident stated that her store was more than 100 meters away from the place of the incident. When the incident occurred, she heard a loud “bang” sound. It feels like an earthquake.
The employee said that because they were more than a hundred meters away, they were not affected much, but the glass of some houses closer to it was shattered. “We don’t know the specific cause of the explosion. Thick smoke came out, and the roads nearby are now closed.”
A staff member of another merchant said that the nearby Jianshe Middle Road and Jianshe West Road have been temporarily closed. After the accident, most of the surrounding shops have been out of power.
