The first sighting in the morning in via Folli. In the evening the firefighters identified him in front of the Canossian institute
FELTRE. A wild boar for a walk in the city, on the outskirts of the city center. It happened yesterday in the station area between via Folli – in front of Lidl – and the Canossian institute. He ran around the area all day, then the firefighters took care to remove him from the asphalt and from the risk of being run over by a car.
The first to find the boar cub first, yesterday morning, was Dino Samaria: he was arranging the garden in via Folli when the unusual face to face happened. The cub was alone, with no mother around.
«I was cutting the hedge, I was on a ladder», explains Samaria, also known in the city for his past political commitment, «when I heard a noise and saw a pet approaching. I thought it was a cat, but when I got off the ladder I realized it was a wild boar baby ».
Samaria was quite surprised by the meeting: «In the past, roe deer often came here from the green area around Metallurgica, then they must have moved», he says, «but a wild boar in via Folli had never been seen before».
The first concern was that the mother could be nearby, with reactions that are difficult to predict. “Instead he was alone,” says Samaria, who took a photo of the puppy with her cell phone. Then he accompanied him on a dirt road so that he could get away.
The wild boar, however, must have returned to the center, because in the evening it was still spotted in the area. It was a kid who noticed it in the bus stop area. The wild boar was in front of the gate of the Canossian auditorium, between the vegetation of the road leading to the purifier and the Dolomitibus depot.
The call to the fire brigade immediately set off two teams who, arriving on site, did not take long to track down the small wild. The wild boar was thus accompanied to the wooded area between the Sonna and the Metallurgica from which it had probably arrived. –
