It was so worry-free!” This year, Chang Xiangsheng, a major grain grower in Xiyan Township, Lingbao City, Henan Province, turned into “Nanny Tian” ”, the service has driven more than 2,000 farmers, bringing convenience and benefits to the villagers.

From the past, facing the loess and waving the sickle with the back to the sky to harvest wheat, now the agricultural machinery has “long eyes” and “brain”, the wheat harvesting speed has been constantly refreshed, and the changes in the way of harvesting wheat by the villagers have witnessed the development of agricultural mechanization. With drones flying in the sky and large agricultural machinery running on the ground, my country’s agricultural production has shifted from relying mainly on human and animal power to relying mainly on mechanical power, and has entered a new era dominated by mechanization. At present, the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting in the country exceeds 72%. More than 97% of winter wheat in my country is harvested by machines, of which 30% are cross-regional machine harvesting. The level of agricultural machinery and equipment has been continuously improved, and the quality of agricultural machinery operation services has been improved and expanded, which has played an important role in ensuring national food security and the supply of important agricultural products, and improving the efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural operations.

Compared with the development needs of modern agriculture, there are still shortcomings in the development of agricultural mechanization in my country. The development of agricultural mechanization in different regions, industries, varieties, and links is not balanced and insufficient, and some aspects such as mechanized production of important agricultural products and agricultural machinery operation services in important agricultural times have not kept up. For example, there is a relative lack of small-scale machinery adapted to the hilly and mountainous areas of the south, the potential of machinery harvesting and loss reduction has yet to be tapped, and the integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy is not yet comprehensive. In response to these problems, it is urgent to target the needs of agricultural production, accurately complement the shortcomings of equipment, technology, and services, promote the high-quality development of agricultural mechanization, and provide strong support for accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

There can be no agricultural modernization without agricultural mechanization. The “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of National Agricultural Mechanization” recently issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs clearly stated that by 2025, the total power of agricultural machinery in the country will be stable at about 1.1 billion kilowatts, and the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting will reach 75%. Development puts forward new demands. From the perspective of equipment, through the guidance of agricultural machinery subsidies and other policies, strengthen the hard support of science and technology, speed up the replacement, transformation and upgrading of combine harvesters, actively develop smart agricultural machinery and special agricultural machinery, and promote “organic availability” to “good machine use”. From a technical point of view, it is necessary to adapt to the development needs of agricultural mechanization, accelerate the upgrading of applicable varieties and practical agronomy, promote the in-depth integration of mechanization with agronomic systems and farmland construction, strengthen technical training for farmers and machine operators, and improve the efficiency and quality of mechanical operations. From the perspective of service, the agricultural socialization service system should be further improved, and new operating entities such as cooperatives and family farms should be guided to carry out services such as trusteeship services, substituting farming, agricultural machinery maintenance, grain drying, etc. .

Every summer harvest, a large number of agricultural machinery operators move to north-south and cross-regional machine harvesting. Data shows that this summer, 250,000 machines and tools have participated in cross-regional machine harvesting. Strengthening organization and scheduling, ensuring the orderly operation of cross-regional machine harvesting, and ensuring that summer grains are harvested well and well will win the initiative for a bumper grain harvest throughout the year and build a solid foundation for the stable and healthy operation of the economy.
