Alleged usurpers of tables in the last elections do not receive payment from the TSE

by admin

Hundreds of Salvadorans who allegedly usurped places at the polling stations during the last elections cannot receive the payment from the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) as ordered by law as their respective Unique Identification Document (DUI) numbers are not found in the databases of people summoned by the referee for the last elections.

Hundreds of Salvadorans demand payment from the TSE to join Vote Receiving Boards in the 2024 elections, however, many of them do not appear on the lists of people drawn to occupy the various positions according to law.

One month after the elections for municipal councils and the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) were held, the institution still owes payment to part of the group of people who made up the Temporary Electoral Organizations (OET).

According to the TSE magistrate, Noel Orellana, payment is owed to 29% of those who worked at the table, because the names that the TSE has do not match with those that appear in the DUIS of the people who were at the table, therefore that they could be the people who were opportunely accused of usurping the positions for the issuance and supervision of votes.

During the last elections there were various complaints of usurpation by people who did not appear on the TSE lists or had credentials and who took over the polling stations, which was then denied by the TSE authorities.
