Six people were injured in a head-on collision between an SUV and a scheduled bus near Davos on Sunday morning. Three of them are in serious condition, according to the Graubünden police. The car was driven by a 27-year-old Belgian.
A 27-year-old Belgian man and three passengers were driving from Davos towards Klosters when they ended up in the opposite lane. In a bend the car collided hard with the bus traveling in the opposite direction.
The cause of the accident has not yet been fully clarified, police said. But images show that the road surface was covered in a thick layer of snow.
The three seriously injured people were the occupants of the car, including the driver. One of them was taken by helicopter to the hospital in Chur, while two others were taken by ambulance to the hospitals in Schiers and Chur.
The fourth occupant of the car, the bus driver and a passenger were slightly injured and hospitalized in Davos. The road remained closed for four hours.
