CD&V Brussels and Emmanuel Boodts have ended their collaboration and Boodts is also resigning his political mandates and positions “immediately”. According to the statement, Boodts recently indicated that he was struggling “with a serious addiction problem.” “It also appears that, from his position, he has unlawfully used operating resources belonging to the Brussels CD&V faction,” it said.
There are currently no details about the type and extent of that unlawful use. A complaint was filed with the police for further legal action.
Emmanuel Boodts himself has “committed to seeking medical guidance and to rectifying the suffering caused to his employer as quickly as possible”.
