Greta Thunberg dragged away by police during protest at the entrance to the Swedish parliament

by admin

Swedish police have taken Greta Thunberg and other climate activists away from the entrance to parliament in Stockholm. They blocked access for the second day in a row, but the police thought it was enough.

Video footage shows Thunberg being carried away by two police officers over a distance of twenty meters. The 21-year-old Swedish woman had lined up with other climate activists in front of the entrance to the Swedish parliament, so that no one could enter. Demonstrating is allowed, the emergency services said, but demonstrators are not allowed to block access to buildings.

On Monday, Thunberg and dozens of other activists had started a sitting protest. They believe that the Swedish government is not doing enough against climate change. They left Monday afternoon and returned Tuesday morning.

It is not the first time that Thunberg has been arrested or taken away by the police. This also happened in Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom.
