China Railway Improves Freight Train Operations with New Operation Map

China Railway has announced the implementation of a new freight train operation map that is set to significantly enhance the quality of China-Europe and Central Asia train operations. According to China News Service, the new map adjustment will come into effect at 18:00 on Wednesday, April 10.

Officials from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway Group) revealed that the new freight train operation chart will see the addition of 31 more express trains across the Railway Bureau Group Company’s network, bringing the total number to 245. Among these additions are 12 intercity trains connecting various cities, as well as 19 multimodal trains facilitating transportation from different ports.

This strategic map adjustment is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of China-Europe and Central Asia train operations. The State Railway Group has laid out 87 scheduled routes for China-Europe trains and 39 for Central Asia trains, with a focus on improving operations along the Trans-Caspian Sea Transport Corridor. This move aims to expand overseas transportation channels and ensure the stability of the international supply chain.

In addition, the China-Europe train timetable will be expanded to include five new trains with a full timetable operating every week. This expansion will cater to the growing demand for freight transport services between China and Europe.

Furthermore, in response to the transportation needs of key materials essential for the national economy and people’s livelihood, such as coal, grain, and fertilizers, Xintu has arranged for 389 direct trains across the Railway Bureau Group Company network. This marks an increase of 37 trains from the previous quarter, with a focus on enhancing the transportation of coal and other essential materials.
