The council rewards those who worked for the community in the hard months of the pandemic. Mayor Castello thanks Chiara Casalino: “Good at finding these resources”

CHIVASSO. In consideration of the protracted health emergency, the municipal administration has deemed it necessary to further intervene in support of the many associations in Chivassesi which, with the interruption or limitation of their activities, have had to undergo a drastic downsizing of revenues and consequently of the possibility to meet the management costs of the spaces granted to them. Also taking into account that many of them still spent themselves for the good of the community in the hardest months of the pandemic. The council then approved the “Support measures to counter the Covid emergency in favor of municipal associations”, committing to this title the total sum of 99,500 euros for the disbursement of extraordinary contributions in favor of city associations, registered in the Register of the municipal associations.

“Coming to determine a highly critical situation on the holding of the entire association system of the territory, precisely in a phase of restart – explains the mayor Claudio Castello -, we wanted to intervene to highlight the social relevance of the activities carried out by the associations operating in the cultural field, sporting and social, with an economic provision capable of giving concrete help directly to those who manage and promote the aggregative offer of our city, registered in the Register of associations and who use municipal premises. An offer that represents a precious opportunity for participation and socialization for all citizens. I thank the councilor for the Budget Chiara Casalino for having found the financial resources necessary to cover this initiative ».

At the end of last year the administration had approved the tender for the granting of an extraordinary contribution to associations for the partial reimbursement of rents or usage fees deriving from administrative concessions from March to December 2020. A December 2020 then ordered the granting of grants for extraordinary expenses for sanitization incurred by amateur sports associations and clubs that have resumed sports and sports training activities at the school gyms and sports sites of the Municipality for the year 2020/2021 .

“The Chivassese associations represented and continues to represent a wealth for our city and an added value that the administration intends to protect and enhance – adds the councilor for sport Tiziana Siragusa – The pandemic period has dealt a painful blow to our associations who have, however, kept their heads high and have been able to maintain a constant direct line with their associates. This contribution wants to represent not only an economic aid but also, to demonstrate the concrete closeness to those who, with so much passion, work every day for the cultural and social improvement of Chivasso ».
