In 2024, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will study the Book of Mormon for the second time since the curriculum launched.”Come and follow me”.
However, instead of having four manuals, a unified manual was published to be distributed to individuals and families around the world.
The general president of the Sunday School Mark L. Pace said, “’Come, Follow Me’ is about creating individual, personal spiritual experiences.”
President Pace stated that to have that kind of experience requires individuals to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.
“It’s not enough to have the Scriptures,” he said. “We have to use them.”
Parents, leaders and teachers of Sunday School, Primary and youth classes can see how to use the new manuals in their respective callings by watching four short videos in a series titled “Teacher and Leader Training—2024” on the Church website. The four-video series contains examples of how individuals, families and classrooms can make the most of the new manual. The general president of the Relief Society Camille N. “Come, follow me” as a multipurpose spiritual tool
Mike Madsen, a product manager at the Church, said the effort to reduce the manuals from four to one gave his team a chance to review previous manuals and create something that would be useful to all Church members in any context.
“We took the four manuals […], and we’ve collected the best ideas from each. And if you compare each of these new manuals to what we had before, we think it’s definitely an improvement.”

The change dramatically reduces the number of manuals that need to be updated and creates a new, more effective tool that meets the needs of the growing church.
The new manual will eventually be translated into 94 languages within a few years.
“It also simplifies and strengthens home-centered, church-supported learning of God’s word,” Madsen said.
For example, the new manual includes both color images and black-and-white drawings to make it easy to use individually, with families, and in Church classes. An increase in imagery is intended to help those who learn through visual modalities.
Each pattern also includes a national anthem.Children’s hymnbook that teaches one of the principles in that lesson.
The manual is designed to be easily used by parents and teachers of virtually all age groups.
“We wrote each activity so that it can be done by anyone homeschooling alone or by a teacher or parent teaching a class or family.”

Lessons now include the following sections and features:
Summary of scriptures for that week’s lesson “Ideas for Learning at Home and at Church” “Ideas for Teaching Children” A blue scripture icon to help parents and teachers identify content that may be best for them study with young people Color images Black and white drawings
For parents of young children, the new manual includes more activities than the previous version used at home.
“No one should feel obligated to read every ‘Come, Follow Me’ activity. The prompts are intended to invite Church members to have a daily worship experience, and ‘Come, Follow Me’ is simply a tool to help you do that,” Madsen said.
Develop strength
President Pace stated that parents can give their children many things, but a testimony is not one of them. However, they can teach correct doctrine and create an atmosphere in which the Holy Ghost can bear witness.
He added that when children and youth read the scriptures and pray, the Holy Ghost whispers peace to their souls and confirms the truthfulness of Heavenly Father and His plan of salvation.
“Our goal is conversion,” declared President Pace. Then, reading the introduction of the new manual, he continued: “’True conversion requires the influence of the Holy Spirit.’ As we read the scriptures and pray, we invite the companionship of the Holy Ghost.”
For those who are just starting out
Adjusting to “Come, Follow Me” and a home-centered course of study has been more difficult for some individuals and families than for others.
“I would say the key to any success, whether you are an individual or a family, is continuity in study,” Madsen said. “Adopt a pattern of daily scripture reading and stick to it.”
She added that parents and teachers can use resources such as Book of Mormon videosthe illustrated stories from the Book of Mormonl’Book of Mormon applicationl’Evangelical Library applicationl’Live the Gospel applicationthe Liahona magazinethe For the Strength of Youth magazine and the L’Amico magazine to help them with their studies. Additional copies of the new manual can be purchased at store.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
The Gospel Library app Home Page will have a new entry that helps members easily access the weekly “Come, Follow Me” outline and scripture chapters. The app also offers Book of Mormon widgets and study plans that help members track their study progress. Application users can set notification reminders to help them build and maintain momentum in their practice.
