Above all, from the meeting at the Palazzo di Città, what the Administration counts could be the date of completion of the works of the first part of the overall restyling of Piazza Alario, set for the end of July 2020.
Therefore, “the completion and rearrangement works of the remaining part of Piazza Alario (currently not fenced and accessible) will be started – the Committee anticipates – immediately after the closure of the site currently operating, ie in the first days of August”. On the merits, «it has been confirmed that the flooring of the entire square will be in lava stone and will carefully respect the root system of centuries-old plants. There will be no tree cuts, in the completion works, an enrichment of the green will be foreseen, the flower beds will conform to the existing ones and only the earth and the grass will be rearranged on which 4 games will be placed instead of the 21 planned “.
Therefore, there will no longer be the playground that had been at the center of the most bitter protests but a small number of carousels that will satisfy the children living in the area. Above all, “there will be no metal fence or closure, but a hedge of about one meter that will limit the whole square”.
