Covid, 898 new infections and eight deaths in the region

UDINE. On Wednesday 4 May in Friuli Venezia Giulia on 4,223 molecular swabs 578 new infections were detected with a positive percentage of 13.69%; moreover, 3,885 rapid antigenic tests were carried out, from which 320 cases (8.24%) were detected for a total of 898 new cases.

6 people are hospitalized in intensive care, while 169 patients are hospitalized in other departments. This was announced by the deputy governor of the Region with responsibility for Health.

As regards the trend of the spread of the virus among the population, the most affected group is the 50-59 years (15.92%), followed by the 40-49 (15.81%) and the 30-39 (12, ninety two%).

The day recorded the deaths of 8 people: an 89-year-old man from Trieste (who died in hospital), an 88-year-old woman from Sacile (who died in a residence for the elderly), an 87-year-old woman from Trieste (who died in hospital ), an 87-year-old woman from Cividale del Friuli (who died in an Rsa), an 84-year-old man from Zoppola (who died in hospital), an 84-year-old woman from Trieste (who died in hospital), a 79-year-old woman from Trieste (who died in a residence for the elderly) and a 74-year-old man from Tarcento (who died in an RSA).

The total number of people who have died since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 5,020, with the following territorial subdivision: 1,250 in Trieste, 2,369 in Udine, 948 in Pordenone and 453 in Gorizia.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Friuli Venezia Giulia, a total of 366,145 people have been positive with the following territorial division: 79,581 in Trieste, 152,611 in Udine, 87,417 in Pordenone, 40,967 in Gorizia and 5,569 from outside the Region.

It should be noted that the number of positive cases was reduced by 3 units following 2 negative molecular swabs after positive antigen test (in Gorizia) and following 1 positive test removed after review of the case (outside the region). As far as the regional health system is concerned, the following positives were found: in the Giuliano Isontina university health authority of 2 nurses; in the Friuli Centrale University Healthcare Company of 1 fellow, 5 nurses, 6 doctors, 2 socio-health workers and 2 technicians; in the Western Friuli health authority of 4 nurses and 2 socio-health workers; in the maternal and child Irccs Burlo Garofolo of 1 nurse; in the regional coordinating agency for the health of 1 administrative.

Finally, with regard to residences for the elderly in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the infection of 37 guests (24 of whom in Ronchi di Legionari) and 26 operators (11 in Ronchi dei Legionari) was recorded.
