ZAGREB. In the Western Balkans, the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be out of control again. In Croatia, on Friday there were 1,517 new infections out of 10,126 tests performed, which means a contagion rate of 15%.

So also Zagreb, as already done by Slovenia, is running for cover. Starting from next Monday 4 October, in fact, all employees of the health sector will be able to work only if they satisfy the so-called PCT condition (recovered from Covid, vaccinated or negative result from a swab). The same rule will also be in force for all external companies whose employees however work in hospitals. The swab, for those who are not vaccinated or cured of the virus, will be carried out twice a week and the time needed to perform it will not be counted as a working period. Those who do not undergo the tampon on the days established by the various administrations will be considered absent from work.

New rules also for the use of masks. The National Command of the Croatian Civil Protection has communicated them. It will be mandatory to wear them covering the nose well for employees of social security institutions that provide accommodation and visitor services to beneficiaries, if visits are allowed; for drivers, other public transport employees and public transport passengers; for employees of the trade and customers during their stay in the shops; for employees in the catering sector who come into contact with guests or participate in the administration and preparation of food, drinks and beverages; for guests in indoor dining facilities, unless they are sitting in their own seats and consuming food, beverages or beverages; for employees of companies, organizations and institutions who work with customers and clients who turn to these companies, organizations and institutions; for employees in service activities where they come into close contact with customers; for employees in offices where a physical distance of at least 2 meters cannot be ensured; for the faithful during religious ceremonies and indoor gatherings; for spectators of sports competitions held indoors; for visitors to all indoor social and public gatherings; for subjects obligated by their employer; for people in open spaces in circumstances where it is not possible to maintain physical distance between people and in other premises or circumstances when it is not possible to guarantee that only people in possession of a Covid digital certificate enter the premises.
