Marvin Wegner and his father Daniel are behind the projects with their CREST Investment GmbH. Senior partner Daniel can draw on over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry – at all levels, from all-round project development to hands-on craftsmanship. It is not without reason that the father-son team is considered the first port of call for the selection, conception, financing and development of exquisite residential projects.
There are a few luxury apartments in Berlin. But CREST offers high-end – and almost always spectacularly on the water. A feature that clearly sets Berlin apart from most European capitals and is relatively unknown internationally, as the two regularly discover in discussions with investors and prospective buyers.
Managing director Marvin Wegner puts it in a nutshell: “We almost only do water layers”. And Berlin and the surrounding area offer a lot: Wannsee and Müggelsee, Havel and Spree, Teltow Canal and Tegeler See right up to the Scharmützelsee in Bad Saarow, where CREST – unsurprisingly – is also present with a project. With this fine selection, including implementation at the highest level, CREST has opened up its own segment. It’s not for nothing that top athletes, influencers, artists, diplomats, startup entrepreneurs and top doctors are also part of the target group.
Quality in a league of its own
Founded in 2016, the company aims for nothing less than the summit – one of the meanings of the English term “crest”. Quality is also at the top: whether sophisticated lighting effects, granite stones or electronically programmable showers – right from the start, Daniel Wegner has relied on the finest materials and appropriate workmanship in all of his objects. He was often a pioneer – and if something didn’t exist, he would quickly lend a hand. For him, quality down to the attention to detail was never negotiable, but rather an attitude that became second nature to him – a philosophy that he also passed on to his son Marvin. Germany and especially Berlin are not the center of the world in terms of design. The Wegners therefore want to “bring international trends to us – and perfect them with German precision and craftsmanship,” says Marvin Wegner.

Luxury real estate – oases in a fast-moving world
In order to ensure high quality at the highest level, CREST does as much as possible itself. The more than 40 employees therefore include no fewer than four of its own architects and a broad team of craftsmen, site managers and master craftsmen in all relevant trades. And so that not only the customers benefit from this claim but it also has a direct impact on the company’s work, the Wegners have prepared one of their exclusive properties, the Borsigvilla on Liesborner Weg, for their new company headquarters.
This highest standard began in a renovation project in Prenzlauer Berg. The project became a first lighthouse. Buyers from Monaco, London and German A-list celebrities competed for the apartments, which, in terms of furnishings and price, surpassed anything on the Berlin market at the time. The penthouse sold for what was then a record price. “That’s when I saw what was possible in Berlin – including room for improvement,” said the senior partner.
Growth turbo inserted
The potential for the CREST market niche is there: thanks to the Internet industry, the generation of heirs, influencers and startups, there has been a lot of money in circulation in Berlin for a good 15 years – wealth that in turn wants to be invested in a good portion in suitable living space.
CREST offers the entire exploitation chain: acquisition, development, sale or rental and sets standards. Not just with the apartments and villas, lake views, materials and high-quality extras – but also with corporate development.
CREST is firmly established in the Berlin market as a second-generation project developer and was one of FOCUS Business‘ top 3 growth champions in the real estate and housing sector in 2021; The company was in 33rd place across all sectors. The two dozen or so projects – completed, in planning and being implemented – amount to a three-digit million sum. The business is developing so quickly that the Financial Times even ranked CREST among the 1000 fastest growing companies in Europe in 2021.
