Dana Ramos Case: The kidnapping and murder of the eight-year-old girl would have been to collect an insurance policy

by admin

The cousin of Dana Ramos, one of those detained in the case, gave her version to the Prosecutor’s Office and revealed details about the motivation to kidnap and murder the eight-year-old girl in Riobamba.

In the movie ‘Man on Fire’ a businessman has his daughter kidnapped to pay off a debt. This seems like a hardly credible fact, until reality surpasses fiction.

In case of Dana Ramos, The girl whose body was found in the cistern of her paternal grandparents’ house, on February 16, 2024, shocked the country and even more so the people of Riobamba where the minor was from.

A week after confirming the death of the eight-year-old girl, the Prosecutor’s Office has collected evidence and versions that indicate the alleged motivation for this kidnapping and murder.

According to the first versions, Dana’s father – who is a police officer on active duty – had a large financial debt and that would have motivated him to plan the kidnapping. This was confirmed by police sources to LA HORA.

Both the girl’s father and cousin are detained in the case.

Dana’s cousin reported that the minor’s father looked for her on February 1, 2024, the day Dana disappeared, and told him that at 6:00 p.m. he had to take her to the store.

Dana’s mother reported that the minor received a message and that motivated her to leave the house. That message would have been sent, from an unknown number, by Dana’s cousin at Mauro’s request.

The objective of the kidnapping was for Dana’s mother to pay for the kidnapping, since Mauro knew that she had an insurance policy. (DLH)
