The Emilia Romagna region focuses on the new generations: girls and boys who will be able to choose to work, study, do research here, Italians, even returning from abroad, or foreigners. And on that, after throwing a bridge with various regions and states at an international level – only in the last few months before the Massachusetts and Pennsylvania with Boston and PhiladelphiaThen Houston in Texas -, now makes the same verse Argentina and Uruguay: per promote the regional ecosystem of research and innovation and attract young talents – students and professionals with high skills – who wish to move or return to Emilia-Romagna.
First dates for institutional mission of the Region underway in Buenos Aires and Montevideo, until 13 May, led by the president Stefano Bonaccini, who however, due to the bad weather emergency, will return early (departure on Wednesday 10 and arrival on Thursday 11).
Building new economic alliances
A mission that aims at build new alliances and collaborations in the economic and university fields with two countries in which many second and third generation Emilia-Romagna live. Starting precisely from the theme of knowledge, increasingly at the center of regional and strategic policies to promote quality growth: from healthcare to environmental protection, from work to sustainable production processes.
The law that facilitates companies that hire talent
In the Argentine capital, in the local branch of the University of Bologna, the presentation of International talents Emilia-Romagnathe program of Art-ER, the Region’s in-house company for innovation, attractiveness and internationalization, designed precisely to illustrate the Emilia-Romagna research and innovation ecosystem, and with it the opportunities and services offered to those wishing to make a study or work experience in the region. An initiative born in 2019 on the model of the most advanced European experiences on the subject. It is a strengthened commitment on the part of the Region, a structural remainder and systematized thanks to the approval of the new regional law per attract talenta unique provision in Italy which provides for a series of measures for those who choose Emilia-Romagna: from concessions for hiring companies to masters and advanced training courses, up to family welfare service packages (accommodation, nursery schools and schools for children, work-life balance).

An important community of Emilia-Romagna origin lives here and the university school system is of high quality. Two realities that can easily dialogue”.

The initiative aimed at young people of Emilia-Romagna origin
The appointment aimed at young Argentines is followed by another in Buenos Aires designed for students and professionals who live in Argentina, but are of Emilia-Romagna origin or training. On the Move – The ecosystem in motionthe title of the initiative, also promoted by Art-Er together with Regional council of the Emilia-Romagna people in the worldthe last stage in chronological order of a tour that in recent years has already touched several foreign capitals, including London, Barcelona, Brussels, Berlin, San Francisco, Dubai. At the initiative, with the president Bonaccini, the president and the vice president of the Consulta, respectively Marco Fabbri and Argentina Maria Lina Bertoncini.
Argentina has one world-class workforce, notable for technical ability, creativity and versatility. The country occupies the second place in the area for the human development index, after Chile, and for the least inequality in the distribution of income, after Uruguay. Literacy is 98% and about 110,000 students graduate each year.
Two masters in international relations and health services
You don’t start from scratch. In fact, an agreement was launched in 2018 and renewed this year between Emilia-Romagna Region and the University of Bologna for the implementation of joint initiatives in the public health sector. Among these a second level master’s degree in Policies and management of EU-Latin American health services, intended for Latin American professionals with classes in both Buenos Aires and Bologna. The agreement between the Consulta degli Emiliano-Romagnoli in the world and the University of Bologna for the creation of a master’s degree in International Relations was also renewed until 2024, which in the academic year 2022-2023 made it possible to award six scholarships to young Argentines of Emilia-Romagna origin to give them the opportunity to study in Emilia-Romagna.
Pact between universities
Lregional research and innovation ecosystem still in the foreground during the initiative that took place in the Argentine capital, at the Pyme Observatory Foundation and during which training and applied research agreements were discussed between Argentine and regional universities. In addition to the Bolognese University, the Universities of Modena and Reggio and that of Parma, which participate in the mission. Among the Argentine universities present: Universidad Nacional de Luján; Universidad Nacional Tecnológica, Regional Delta; National University of Nordeste; National University of the South; Universidad Nacional Arturo Jauretche.

The Emilia-Romagna community in Argentina
The Emilia-Romagna community in Argentina officially numbers approx 30 thousand people, registered in Aire. A decidedly underestimated number that does not take into account the many natives who are not necessarily registered in the registry of Italians residing abroad. Suffice it to say that according to some estimates, half of Argentina’s 40 million inhabitants are of Italian origin. Within the regional council, Argentina is one of the most active communities with 25 associations out of a total of 92. A reality that actively participates in the tenders with which the council finances its initiatives.
The exhibition on Pasolini
