China Accelerates Construction of Transportation Power

China is ramping up efforts to become a global transportation powerhouse, with plans to build more advanced aviation hubs, a comprehensive transportation system, and accelerate the development of smart transportation and logistics.

The ambitious goal was outlined by General Secretary Xi Jinping, who emphasized the importance of developing the transportation industry to enable smoother travel experiences and efficient flow of goods. The Party Central Committee has issued strategic documents such as the “Outline for Building a Transportation Power” and the “National Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transportation Network Planning Outline” to guide the country towards becoming a transportation power by 2035.

The recent report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China further underscored the urgency of accelerating the construction of a powerful transportation country. The Ministry of Transport, along with other key agencies, have jointly issued a Five-Year Action Plan to expedite the progress in the next five years.

By 2023, China aims to have a comprehensive transportation network spanning over 6 million kilometers, with upgraded port facilities, civil airports, and postal services reaching all organized villages across the country.

The government is calling for a spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, and proactive action to achieve the goal of becoming a transportation power that meets the needs of the people and sets a benchmark for modernization.

As China steers towards this new era of transportation development, the world is watching closely to see how the country will reshape global transportation cooperation and pave the way for new opportunities on the world stage.
