Football starts again but the protocol is not liked, rugby fears the yellow zone

by admin

BELLUNO. Sport gets back into motion. The FIGC and the Italian Rugby Federation were among the first to adopt a health protocol for the restart. And the companies are working to implement the new rules. But questions remain unresolved and the main concerns are in the youth sectors.

Football

For all the amateur categories from Promotion to the Third category, passing through Juniors, Allievi and Giovanissimi, the protocol first of all provides for an initial screening with a swab or quick test 48/72 hours before the meeting. For “susceptible cases” (not vaccinated) a second swab is provided 6/7 days after the first.

During the year, however, there is no obligation to subject members to a swab or quick test before each race: self-certification and fitness for physical activity are enough. For Beginners, Chicks, First Kicks and Little Friends, self-certification and fitness for physical activity will be sufficient.

“There are still open questions”, acknowledges the regional vice president of the FIGC, Patrick Pitton, “To which we will give top priority to provide everyone with the necessary information in order to organize themselves in the best possible way”.

Meanwhile, there is no shortage of doubts among the Belluno leaders. The Cavarzano Limana will start next week from Juniors and Allievi.

“I find it embarrassing”, comments the head of the youth sector, Andrea Fontana, «That there is no clear position on what needs to be done. It would be enough for me to be told clearly what needs to be done. Instead, it has been a year and a half that, every two or three weeks, we have had to hold meetings between managers to understand how to interpret and apply the rules ».

To access the changing rooms you will probably need to be in possession of the green pass.

«We, if in doubt, will initially ask for it, to access the changing rooms. But », continues Fontana,“ I ask myself: what is the sense that the swab should be done only once, before the meeting, and then that’s enough, and we proceed by self-certification? And who knows why the rules are so clear for professionals, while for amateur clubs they are not at all… ».

Castion is also organizing to restart.

“We were a little surprised by the fact that the round of pre-rally swabs is also mandatory for vaccinated”, admits the technical manager of the youth sector. Gianni Dell’Osta Uzzel, «Also because now the tampons are no longer free. We sent two questions to the regional leaders to understand, among other things, if it is possible to still have the free tampons for sporting reasons. For the rest, the first results are good: among the students, for example, practically all are already in possession of a green pass. Perhaps with the very young there may be some more difficulties ».

In Mugnai, Juventina invested in facilities by creating “a new ventilation system in the changing rooms”, as the manager in charge said Maurizio Zatta, «Which we hope will improve the structure. We are deepening the protocols and we will adapt to incorporate them in the right way, even if everything is a bit complicated. It was important that the tampons were free for the children, because surely our society, like the others, cannot afford to sustain this cost regularly, nor can it probably be asked of the families ».

Rugby

“Well, as long as you stay in the white zone.” Among the first sports to restart there is also rugby which, like football, benefits from the possibility of carrying out the entire activity (or almost) outdoors. The protocol updated by the Fir provides (in the white area) the obligation for all over 12 to show the green pass to access the changing rooms and gyms, but not to train or play outdoors.

Paolo Aspodello, president of Rugby Feltre, what worries you most?

«The decisive element is to remain in the white zone. If we stay like this, in fact, the green pass will be necessary only for the use of changing rooms and gyms, in our case the weight room. It means that the boy will have to arrive already changed, or he will change out, but in essence he will not change much compared to the past months. And apparently, even a boy who has not been vaccinated will be able to continue to carry out activities ».

If, on the other hand, the general situation were to worsen again, the upsurge would also affect rugby.

«The problems», Aspodello continues, «could arise if you were to pass into the yellow zone: in that case the unvaccinated cardholder would be obliged to swab regularly. In the orange zone, however, the whole team would have to undergo a swab on Friday night, before the game. I believe that the federation’s protocols have the objective of allowing us to play and in this sense I believe they are going in the right direction. They could lead to reductions in the number of roses, we know that. Of course, if they had introduced the compulsory vaccine in schools, everything would have been simpler … ».

Rugby Feltre himself, about a month ago, had promoted a day dedicated to vaccines to raise awareness among members and communities.

«We strongly believe in the role that a company like ours must have in doing its part. Having said that, we neither oblige nor can oblige anyone: each family will make its own choices and will evaluate whether to vaccinate the child or risk that he will no longer be able to practice sport ». –
