A week after the start of the campaign, the 2024 legislative and regional elections security force (FOSELR) takes stock of its activities.
440 public meetings, 283 caravans and 59 door-to-door operations and religious services were secured by FOSELR.
However, the report highlights a few incidents. These are crossings of caravans in Lomé quickly brought under control thanks to the intervention of FOSELR; traffic accidents causing two deaths and injured people treated by FOSELR elements and evacuated to hospitals.
FOSELR presents its sincere condolences to the grieving families and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured. She invites the population and especially political actors to be more responsible, calm and restrained.
FOSELR also invites the various political parties to raise awareness among their activists and supporters about civic behavior and respect for the Highway Code during this period of electoral fervor and especially the need to avoid all forms of provocations and violence.
Note that FOSELR is responsible for ensuring security before, during and after the elections.
