BELLUNO. There is little time left for the opening of the Gabelli school in Belluno, the object of an important and expensive renovation. Today, Saturday 26 March, for the FAI days, some rooms, especially on the first floor, have been opened to the public for visits.

The school dates back to 1938 and was the first in Italy to apply the Montessori method. From the next school year it will host children from the Cairoli kindergarten, the Primi passi group (from 24 to 36 months of age) and elementary schools. An event that has been expected for over ten years.

The work, which cost over 5 million euros financed by the municipality of Belluno, through the Urban Regeneration plan, led to the construction of an internal lift, the restoration of the original fixtures, and the innovative conception of the spaces according to the new philosophies. construction of school buildings.

The heating is underfloor, the classrooms have been colored so as to be recognizable to children, the very long corridors, as explained by the commissioner Franco Frison, will become real meeting spaces. The spaces will be doubled thanks to a game of mirrors on the corridor walls. The ceilings are all sound-absorbing, even the lighting is special. In addition, the toilets will refer to groups of classrooms. Finally, the old swimming pool can become a sort of arena for the shows of the younger pupils.

The school, through a passage that will rise laterally to the court, will be connected on one side to the Fantuzzi barracks, on the other to the new square of the old hospital.
