The first results of the autopsy on the 29-year-old’s body. There are no signs of violence, but the prosecutor does not file
BELLUNO. Death from asphyxiation, caused by the electrical cable around the neck. No signs of violence or scuffle that could suggest the action of third parties, malicious people, have been found on the body of Giacomo Sartori.
It pcomputer scientist of Mel, 29, had been found lifeless after almost a week of research, in the Pavia area, at Cascina Caiella.
Yesterday the coroner, the consultant of the Pavia court appointed by the prosecutor Andrea Zanoncelli, gave the first answers on the outcome of the autopsy examination. Doctor Yao Chen ruled out violence: Giacomo’s death was caused by suffocation, by that electric extension cord wrapped around his neck and tied to the oak.
Suicide therefore.
We will have to wait a few more days, however, for the results of the genetic tests on the construction site extension cord used to take his own life and on the chain that was swept in two in a first attempt.
Finally, a little longer times for the toxicological test and forensic entomology analyzes that will help the investigators to date with certainty the time of death.
On the body, no signs of a struggle or that suggest the action of other people were found.
The investigations coordinated by the prosecutor Andrea Zanoncelli of Pavia, however, will not be closed at the outcome of the autopsy examination and its recsultations.
The investigators want to understand what pushed Giacomo to an unknown place in the middle of the night and why he then decided to take his own life.
The investigation file was opened for manslaughter against unknown persons: usually one intervenes to incite suicide, but in any case it is understood how the prosecutor of Pavia wants to understand if in some way third persons may have influenced Giacomo’s final decision.
Before closing the case, other technical checks will be carried out. And we will try to shed light on some obscure points of the story that revolves around what so far would be called a suicide.
It is known that Giacomo on Friday evening, at the Enoteca in via Vittorio Veneto, had suffered the theft of the backpack in which he had stored his two computers.
And it is plausible that, very angry (according to the friends who were with him), he tried to follow a trail thanks to the App he had installed.
From doing this thought, to assuming taking one’s own life and putting this tragic gesture into practice, it may not be so automatic.
Was there something that prompted Giacomo to see everything black, to judge the situation in which he found himself irreparable? To define the problems associated with that computer theft insurmountable? What was on his PCs?
Of course, Mel’s 29-year-old could not have known that his backpack had been found in Piazza Montanelli in Milan on Wednesday: inside there were wallets emptied of cash, not cards, the keys. Not computers.
Investigators believe that his move thirty kilometers from Milan, in the Pavia area, is due to the tracks he was following: and from the analysis of his smartphone, important details will come to understand his last hours of life.
