This is the first result of the autopsy that the medical examiner Alberto Tortorella carried out on the body of Roberta Bertacchi, the 26-year-old found hanged on the morning of the Epiphany on the balcony of her home in Casarano (Lecce).
Tight around her neck is a Casarano football scarf, her boyfriend’s favorite team. The time of death was the night before the body was found. The victim’s family consultant, Vincenzo Garzya, was present at the autopsy examination. Regarding the death, the Lecce Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case against unknown persons for incitement to suicide.
The young woman’s boyfriend, Davide, 35 years old, with whom the young woman had recently started a relationship, is a supporter of Casarano football and he had given her the scarf with which Roberta hanged herself. It was the symbol of their love. The two, the evening before Roberta’s death, had been seen arguing in a club, then they went out together but during the car journey she got out because she was angry and continued alone. On her Instagram profile the young man writes: “Now she sings with me from up there. I miss you so much, little girl”, with a heart next to her. The young woman, who was followed by a psychiatrist, had been without her mobile phone for a few days because it was being repaired. Her parents, her mother and her second husband who raised her after the separation, are not resigned and are convinced that Roberta was pushed by someone to make that extreme gesture, regardless of her fragility. The two also announced that they will file a complaint for the diffusion online of a video where the 26-year-old is seen hanging with her scarf around her neck from the railing of the balcony of her house.
