Through an operation, the members of the criminal group ‘Anubis’ were captured, identified as those allegedly responsible for the kidnapping of two brothers, merchants from the municipality of Guamal, Meta, in the month of January 2023, and who on the date of 26 of the same month they were found dead, apparently at the hands of their captors.

As a result of this operation, arrest warrants were issued for two men, known by the aliases ‘Wilson’ and ‘Jair’, in San Carlos de Guaroa in Meta and Cúcuta, Norte de Santander respectively, who, apparently, They would have planned and executed the kidnapping and subsequent murder of the merchant brothers.

The crimes issued in the arrest warrant issued by the San Carlos De Guaroa Municipal Promiscuous Court, (Meta) and for which they were sought, are: extortionate kidnapping in the context of aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying and/or possession of weapons of fire, accessories, parts and/or ammunition.

Within the framework of the investigation that continued for 12 months in which nearly 12 GAULA officers participated, the complete dismantling of this criminal group was achieved, since, by the date of April and December of the year 2023, they had managed to materialize the captures of aliases ‘Costeño’ and ‘El Flaco’ in the municipalities of San Bernardo (Cundinamarca) and Guamal (Meta).

False Service Mode

Through the “false service” modality, this organization commits crimes. The Police and the Attorney General’s Office have four people who denounced their criminal actions, however, it is not ruled out that more merchants from the Ariari region in Meta may be affected; since its interference was focused on the municipalities of Villavicencio, Acacías, Guamal, San Martín and Granada.

To aliases ‘Costeño’ and ‘El Flaco’, who had been captured the previous year, members of this common organized criminal group, the Attorney General’s Office charged them with the crimes of kidnapping for ransom in conjunction with aggravated homicide and illegal possession of weapons. .

As for aliases ‘Wilson’ and ‘Jair’, they were presented and left at the disposal of the requesting judicial authority, where they must answer for these punishable behaviors.
