JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The government declared Friday, March 29 2024 as a national holiday to commemorate the Day of the Death of Jesus Christ.
This determination is contained in the Joint Decree (SKB) regarding national holidays and collective leave in 2024.
The Day of the Death of Jesus Christ or also known as Good Friday is a series of Holy Week commemorations celebrated by Christians.
Good Friday is also known as Holy Friday or Easter Friday.

The Day of the Death of Jesus Christ is celebrated by Christians to commemorate the events of Jesus’ crucifixion, Jesus’ death on the cross and Jesus’ burial.
The day of the death of Jesus Christ is celebrated every year and the date can be different each year, following Easter.
As Good Friday approaches, Christians and Catholics will usually fast and repent for the sacrifice that led to Jesus being crucified.
