Hackers are threatening to sell Duvel brewery trade secrets as early as next week

by admin

The hacker collective that has taken down the computer network of the Duvel brewery is threatening to leak a large amount of data about the company next week.

The hackers said this to Vtm, which had contact with members of Stormous. According to the hacker collective – which holds the brewery’s data hostage in exchange for ransom – there has still been no contact with the Duvel management. This frustrates the hackers, and that is why they increase the pressure on the brewery group.

A countdown clock on the hacker group’s website initially stated that the brewery had more than 2 weeks to pay the ransom – the exact amount is not known.

On Wednesday it was announced that the Moortgat brewery – the company behind Duvel, among others – had been hacked, causing production to be temporarily halted. It was also announced on Friday that the Beyers coffee roaster – located not far from the Duvel brewery – also fell victim to hackers.
