He beats his daughters and spits at his wife: sentenced to one year and four months

Finished on trial with these charges, a fifty-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday morning in court in Treviso a one year and four months of imprisonment, suspended sentence. The prosecutor had asked for exactly double the sentence, two years and eight months.

To report the man, assisted by the lawyer Ilaria Pempinella, was his wife, now separated. The woman, victim of continuous verbal and physical harassment against him and also against his two teenage daughters, had decided to turn to the police to put an end to that family nightmare. The man ended up on trial on charges of aggravated family abuse: now there is a first degree sentence.

In a particularly bloody episode, the man would have come to beat and squeeze hands around the neck to the eldest daughtersixteen at the time, against his wife, however, continuous insults and threats, up to spit at her.

The man, with alcoholism problems that have been dragging on for years, is now in a recovery community in the Asolano area. He will also have to financially compensate his separated wife and daughters, who have filed a civil action on trial: the judge has meanwhile established a provisional five thousand eurosthe final amount will be quantified in civil proceedings.
